Other Information: Rotary is keen to foster good relations within the
community and welcomes public spirited individuals who want to put something
back into the local community as well as helping others less fortunate
throughout the world. Being an international body, Rotary has the influence
to shape policies throughout the world. Rotary was asked by the World
Health Organisation to coordinate the project to rid the world of polio,
has all but eliminated the disease. Following the Tsumami in the Thailand,
Sri Lanka, India and countries of the Pacific rim on Boxing Day 2004,
Rotary was one of the first organisations to offer tangible assistance
and is still there and assisting in this area of need.
Indeed anywhere
there is a natural disaster, one can almost without exception be sure
that Rotary is there to help. Our club is part of that massive global
voluntary organisation and is committed to helping other to help their
own in times of turmoil. Being non-political Rotary has access to areas
where other organisations are barred.
We are always keen
to welcome new members who would like to put something back into their
local community. Get in touch if you feel you would like to join us.
Both Ladies and Gentlemen are eligible for membership of Rotary.
