Market Street, Galashiels, circa 1899, this photo and the one below were taken from virtually the same spot,
but twenty five years apart.

Market Street again, 1922, shows the street very much as it is now.

Galashiels Post Office and High Street, date unknown, this Post Office was opened in1896 by Provost Dickson.

Wilderhaugh, Galashiels at the turn of the century, Adam Purves and Sons garage is here now.
Buckholmside Skinworks chimney is visible on this photo,
it was decorated during the 1953 Coronation with "God Save the Queen" which was lit up at night.
